First Dental Visit for Kids: When & What to Expect | AAPD
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends that a child's first dental visit should occur no later than their first birthday. This may seem early, but it's an important part of protecting your child's oral health.
At this first visit, the dentist will:
* Examine your child's teeth and gums
* Check for any tooth decay, cavities, or other problems
* Apply fluoride to your child's teeth to help strengthen them
* Give you advice on how to care for your child's teeth
By taking your child to the dentist early, you can help ensure that they develop healthy dental habits that will last a lifetime.
