ACL Tear & Cast: Can Immobilization Repair the Damage?
A cast cannot fix a torn ACL (anterior cruciate ligament). The ACL is a band of tissue that connects the shin bone (tibia) to the thigh bone (femur). A cast can help to immobilize the knee and provide some support, but it will not be able to repair the torn ligament. Surgery is usually necessary to repair a torn ACL.Wounds & Injuries - Related Articles
