How to Alleviate Tiredness
Feeling tired can affect your mood, work, lifestyle and health. Tiredness, or fatigue, can be a symptom of several different factors including sickness, diet, psychological issues and stress of lifestyle choices. If you are experiencing tiredness on a regular basis or at a severe level, visit a doctor to determine the underlying causes. If you are simply worn out and exhausted, you can try several things to rejuvenate and refresh your weary body and mind.
Instructions
Dietary
Avoid consuming white bread, white sugar and any items made from these. Refined flours and sugars are high on the glycemic index; when eaten, they cause a sharp spike in energy followed by a severe low.
Eat plenty of whole-grain, high-fiber foods. These nutrient-dense foods will provide your body with the energy and nutrients it needs to function at an optimal level.
Drink at least 6 glasses of water each day. Fatigue and dehydration actually share many of the same symptoms so you could be suffering from a lack of hydration.
Avoid caffeinated drinks. Caffeine can stay in the body for several hours, which may affect your sleep cycle and disrupt your normal energy levels. If you miss the caffeine, try a cup of green tea instead.
Lifestyle
Increase your activity levels. Low activity levels can lead to low energy levels so aim to exercise each day.
Find an outlet for dealing with stress. Stress can weigh on the body and mind, causing fatigue and tiredness. Meditate, walk, paint, read or discover a hobby that allows you to release your daily stress.
Get more sleep. It may sound obvious but many people do not get enough sleep each night. Aim for at least 8 hours of sleep each night to rest properly.
