Understanding and Setting Pressure on Your Respironics BiPAP Auto
The Respironics BiPAP Auto is a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) device that provides a set air pressure to the patient's mask while the patient is inhaling. The necessary air pressure to prevent the patient from having an apnea episode (known as the prescription setting) is usually determined during a sleep study and prescribed by the patient's physician. The BiPAP Auto's Clinician Menu is easily accessed through the control panel on the device.Things You'll Need

Instructions
Plug the small round plug on one end of the power cord into the power jack on the CPAP machine.
Press and hold the right and left arrow keys on the control pad while plugging the other end of the power cord into a wall outlet. Then press the "+" button on the control pad. This accesses the clinician's setup menu.
Press the right arrow key until you see the IPAP screen. This shows the positive airway pressure provided during inhalation, measured in centimeters of water or cmH20. Press the "+" or "-" button to set this to the prescription pressure.
Press the right arrow key until you see the EPAP screen. EPAP is the amount of air pressure provided during the exhalation phase. Use the "+" or "-" buttons to adjust this setting.
Press the right arrow key until you see the MAX IPAP screen. This is the maximum air pressure the machine will deliver if the BiPAP feature is enabled. Use the "+" or "-" buttons to adjust this setting.
Press the power button to exit the clinician mode and return to user mode.
