Managing Rosacea & Redness: Effective Cover & Conceal Strategies
If you suffer from red, blotchy skin on your cheeks, you are probably dealing with rosacea: a common skin disorder which occurs on the face. The causes of the disorder are unknown. The red cheeks associated with it can cause many sufferers social and occupational stress due to self-consciousness and embarrassment. Although there is known cure for it, if you suffer from red cheeks you can control and cover the redness using a few home methods.Things You'll Need
- Gentle facial cleanser
- Towel
- Redness reducing moisturizer
- Applicator sponge
- Concealer
- Powder brush
- Finishing powder
Instructions
Wash your face using a cleansing product of your choice. Make sure the product is for sensitive skin to avoid over drying and harsh chemicals, both of which could cause more redness. Rinse your face with cool water. Do not use hot or cold water, since both could make the redness worse.
Dry your face off thoroughly with a clean towel. Avoid further skin irritation by patting and not rubbing the skin.
Moisturize your skin using a moisturizer specifically formulate to reduce redness. You can find them at your local beauty supply store. Apply a bit of moisturize to an applicator sponge and rub it, gently, onto your face. The moisture will make it easier to apply and blend your makeup.
Apply concealer that matches your skin tone to your face using an applicator sponge. Avoid using your fingers to apply the makeup. They can apply more oils to your face which could cause further redness or breakouts. Just apply the concealer to the areas of your face affected by redness. Blend the concealer thoroughly to match your skin tone.
Use a brush to lightly cover your entire face with a finishing powder. Choose a color that matches your skin tone.
