Understanding Non-Intact Skin: Definition & Causes

Non-intact skin, as per WHO defines any disruption of epidermal continuity resulting from a break in either of the protective layers of superficial skin; epidermis as seen on areas like abrasions, wounds, lacerations; or deeper sub cutaneous tissues through the dermis such as burns of third or deeper extent, draining surgical wounds or pressure ulcers.
