Cardiac Muscle: Voluntary vs. Involuntary Control Explained
The muscle that can be voluntary and involuntary is cardiac muscle tissue.
1. Voluntary: Cardiac muscles can be voluntary controlled when it is necessary for us to increase or decrease the heart's rate, such as during the exercise.
2. Involuntary: Cardiac muscles are usually involuntary because we are not consciously aware of it's contractions. The control of the cardiac muscles is through nerve impulses originating in different parts of the heart itself and not from the brain.
