What is a nephrocystanastomosis?

Nephrocystanastomosis is the creation of a direct communication between the renal pelvis and the urinary bladder, in order to drain urine from the kidney to the bladder. The indication is urinary tract obstruction, usually caused by tumours, stones, or congenital malformations.
