Lupus Nephritis Without Other Lupus Symptoms: Understanding ILN
Isolated lupus nephritis (ILN) is a rare condition in which a person has lupus nephritis, which is inflammation of the kidneys caused by the autoimmune disease lupus, but does not have any other symptoms or signs of lupus. ILN is thought to be caused by the same immune system dysfunction that causes lupus, but for unknown reasons, it only affects the kidneys. ILN can cause serious kidney damage and lead to kidney failure if it is not treated promptly. Treatment for ILN typically involves immunosuppressive medications to suppress the overactive immune system and prevent further kidney damage.Lupus - Related Articles
