Name and describe the four parts of your blood?
The four main components of blood are:
- Plasma: Plasma is the liquid part of blood that makes up about 55% of its volume. It is composed of water, electrolytes, proteins, hormones, and waste products.
- Red blood cells: Red blood cells are produced in the bone marrow and are responsible for carrying oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body. They contain a protein called hemoglobin, which binds to oxygen molecules.
- White blood cells: White blood cells are produced in the bone marrow and are part of the body's immune system. They help to fight infection and disease.
- Platelets: Platelets are small, colorless cells that help to stop bleeding by forming clots. They are produced in the bone marrow.
