Understanding & Measuring Blood Oxygen Levels: A Comprehensive Guide
If the percentage of hemoglobin in your blood is off it can lead to illness. One way to keep this in check is to monitor the oxygen levels of your blood. This is most effectively done with a pulse oximeter. These are small, non-invasive electronic devices that can be attached to a finger in order to read the oxygen levels. They are readily available over the counter.
Instructions
Purchase an electronic pulse oximeter. These are available in various sizes but the models that attach to the end of your finger are the most compact and easy to carry.
Slide the battery door off of the top of the pulse oximeter and insert the two included AAA batteries into the compartment.
Insert your index finger into the opening at the end of the pulse oximeter until it can't go any further.
Wait for the unit to automatically initialize. After a moment the blood levels will be displayed on the LED screen located at the top of the meter.
