How is neutropenia diagnosed?
Neutropenia is diagnosed through a complete blood count (CBC) test, which measures the levels of different blood cells in your body. If your CBC shows that your neutrophil count is below the normal range, you may be diagnosed with neutropenia.
Your doctor may also recommend additional tests to determine the cause of your neutropenia, such as:
* Blood tests to measure your levels of other white blood cells, platelets, and red blood cells
* Bone marrow biopsy to examine the cells in your bone marrow
* Imaging tests to look for any underlying medical conditions that may be causing neutropenia
Based on the results of these tests, your doctor will be able to determine the cause of your neutropenia and recommend the appropriate treatment.
