Positive B Blood Type

* Has the B antigen on the surface of red blood cells

* Does not have the A or AB antigens on the surface of red blood cells

* Can receive blood from people with B+ or B- blood types

* Can donate blood to people with B+, B-, AB+ or AB- blood types

Negative B Blood Type

* Has the B antigen on the surface of red blood cells

* Does not have the A, B or AB antigens on the surface of red blood cells

* Can receive blood from people with B-, AB- or O- blood types

* Can donate blood to people with B+, B-, AB+, AB- or O+ blood types
