Bird Lice: Can Humans Get Infected?

Humans do not get lice from birds. Different species of lice are specialized to live on particular types of hosts. Human lice are specific to humans and cannot survive on birds or other animals. Birds have their own species of lice that are adapted to live on their feathers and skin. These species of lice are not able to live on humans and vice versa.
