Cervical Cancer Radiation Therapy: Side Effects & What to Expect
There are two types of cervical cancer radiation therapy. External radiation therapy, called systemic therapy, focuses gamma rays externally to the pelvic region. Internal cervical cancer radiation therapy, called brachytherapy, involves placing an implant that is sealed with radioactive material into the uterus to deliver the gamma rays. Radiation treatment is typically used for women with more advanced cervical cancer.-
