Spinal Cord Anatomy: Structure and Function Explained
The spinal cord is made up of a bundle of nerve fibres (or axons) surrounded by a protective sheath. The outer layer is white, and the deep central layer is grey, shaped rather like a butterfly or an H. The grey matter contains the cell bodies of the motor and sensory neurons, while the white matter contains the axons of these neurons.Cervical Cancer - Related Articles
