V2 Premier Computers Won't Recognize My CD-ROM
If your V2 Premier desktop computer is not recognizing your CD-ROM drive, you have the jumper on the CD-ROM set incorrectly. Desktop computers use a master/slave system that determines the order in which drives are accessed. If your hard drive is listed as master, and your CD-ROM is also listed as master, your V2 Premier desktop computer will not recognize the CD-ROM drive. You can fix this problem by correctly setting the jumper on the CD-ROM drive.
Instructions
Turn off your V2 Premier computer and remove the power cord.
Remove the side of your computer case by removing the screws that secure it.
Remove the small plastic jumper from your CD-ROM drive. The jumper will be located in the middle of your CD-ROM drive.
Place the jumper on the two pins located in the middle of the jumper connections. The jumper should fit vertically across these two pins.
Replace the side of your case and your power cable.
Turn on your computer and confirm the CD-ROM drive is recognized.
