How to Put a Penny on a Bee Sting
Being stung by a bee is annoying ... and it hurts. Those who are allergic to bee stings must seek immediate medical attention if stung, but for the rest of us, a quick and painless way to relieve the pain of a bee sting can be found in your pocket or purse: a penny. Some people believe the copper in the penny counteracts the sting.Things You'll Need
- Penny
- Tape, if available
- Tweezers, if needed
Instructions
Inspect the area that has been stung. If the stinger is still embedded in the skin, pull it out with your fingers or tweezers.
Rinse the area, making it clean and wipe it dry.
Place a clean penny on the sting.
Cut a piece of tape place it over the penny, taping the penny to your arm. If tape is not available, simply hold the penny on the sting area.
Leave the penny on your arm for 15 minutes. You should no longer feel the sting, nor should there be a lump from the sting.
