How is a norform used?
To use a Norform vaginal contraceptive:
- Wash your hands and the vaginal area thoroughly before inserting the Norform.
- Remove the Norform from its foil pouch and check it for any damage. If it's damaged, do not use it.
- Hold the Norform between your thumb and forefinger, and gently insert it into the vagina. Push it in as far as it comfortably goes, or until it reaches the cervix.
- You can insert the Norform up to 24 hours before you have sex. It will start to dissolve within a few minutes of being inserted, and it will continue to release sperm-killing spermicide for up to 1 hour.
- After sex, wait at least 6 hours before removing the Norform. To remove the Norform, simply pull it out using the string attached to it.
- Discard the Norform in a wastebasket. Do not flush it down the toilet.
