What is otomize ear spray?
Otomize ear spray contains the active ingredient carbamide peroxide - it works by softening and loosening earwax so you can rinse it out more easily.
Carbamide peroxide is a type of medicine called a _ceruminolytic agent_.
Otomize ear spray:
- is used to remove excess earwax. This may relieve symptoms such as muffled hearing, pain, discomfort, discharge or infections caused by the trapped earwax
- comes as ear drops/ ear spray solution to put in the affected ear or ears
If your symptoms have not improved after using Otomize ear spray for a week it could mean your symptoms are being caused by something unrelated to earwax build-up. Talk to your doctor straight away.
You should not use an ear syringing kit/ bulb syringe unless a doctor or trained nurse says it is OK for you to. This is because some people (for example, people undergoing radiotherapy for head and neck cancer) who do use ear syringing may develop more issues, such as a temporary inner ear condition if you flush out protective wax.
