For consumption, turmeric paste can be used to make an almond butter sandwich spread, mixed with honey for a sweet paste, mixed with liquids to drink for medicinal purposes or as an ingredient in a hot beverage called golden milk. As a beauty treatment, turmeric paste is used for facials, to reduce acne, as a body scrub and for hair removal. Turmeric also has anti-inflammatory properties and has been used for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine, a system of alternative medicine that originated in India more than 2,000 years ago.Things You'll Need
- 1/2 cup turmeric powder
- 1 cup water
Instructions
Stir together 1/2 cup turmeric powder and 1 cup water in a small saucepan until it is smooth.
Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring frequently.
Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer until it thickens.
Store paste in a covered container in the refrigerator.
