DIY Essential Oil Air Mist: Recipes & Benefits for Home & Wellness
Many people are using aromatherapy products for the health benefits of essential oils. A homemade air mist with essential oils is easy to make and perfect for your home, your car or even carrying around with you. Different blends of essential oils can promote well being in different aspects in your life. By using your sense of smell, aromatherapy is an effective tool in relieving stress, improving your mood and even boosting mental clarity.Things You'll Need
- 2 oz. glass bottle with a fine mist spray nozzle Distilled or purified water Pure essential oils Witch hazel
Instructions
Choose the essential oils for your air mist. Different oils will produce different results. For example, Rosemary and peppermint are clarifying oils, while lavender and vanilla are stress relievers. To improve your mood, consider bergamot and neroli.
Add 12 to 18 drops total of your preferred essential oils. You can use a single oil or a combination of oils depending on what you are trying to achieve.
Add 2 teaspoons of witch hazel to the bottle.
Add 3 1/4 tablespoons of the distilled water.
Shake the mixture gently each time you use it to blend and invigorate the essential oils. Gabrielle Souczek, Ms.C., a clinical aromatherapist, recommends carrying your blend with you wherever you go.
