Jumping Jacks: A Comprehensive Guide to Proper Form & Benefits
Jumping jacks are a full-body, high-intensity cardio workout that anyone can do anywhere. They are a great way to improve your cardiovascular health, burn calories, and tone your muscles.
Instructions:
1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and your arms at your sides.
2. Jump up with your feet spreading shoulder-width apart and swing your arms up overhead.
3. Jump back to the starting position.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3.
Tips:
* Keep your core engaged and your back straight throughout the movement.
* Land softly on the balls of your feet.
* If you have knee problems, replace jumping jacks with marching in place, running in place, or low-impact jumping (i.e., jump while stepping in and out of cones placed shoulder-width apart as shown in the video).
* Start with fewer repetitions and increase the number of jumps as you get stronger.
Variations:
* To make jumping jacks more challenging, add weights to your hands or wrists.
* Try different variations of jumping jacks, such as side-to-side jumping jacks, front-to-back jumping jacks, or squat jumping jacks.
