What Foods to Eat After the Lap Band Procedure
The lap band procedure is a serious surgery. There are restrictions on what you can safely eat in the days and weeks immediately following the gastric banding surgery.-
Water

Take small, frequent sips of water to remain hydrated after your gastric band surgery.
Ice

Sucking on ice cubes or crushed ice is safe after you've had the gastric band procedure.
Clear Broth

Clear broth without milk, meat or vegetables can be eaten in very small amounts.
Skim Milk

Skim milk in very small amounts is safe to drink after gastric banding.
No-Sugar Added Fruit Juice

Fruit juice with no added sugar and sipped slowly is allowed after the gastric banding procedure.

Your doctor will give you a strict dietary guideline to follow in the days and weeks after your surgery. Adding foods too early or eating and drinking too much can cause vomiting or damage to your banded stomach.
