Maintenance of disc height (MDH) is a treatment goal in conservative management for symptomatic intervertebral disc disease. It's the process for slowing and even reversing the disc degeneration process. Techniques, such as spinal decompression and flexion-distraction, used in MDH therapy to reduce disc bulging, reposition herniated discs, and stimulate growth of new disc material.
