STDs and Underwear: Does Underwear Prevent Transmission?
While wearing underwear can provide some barrier protection, it does not guarantee complete protection against sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). STDs can be transmitted through direct contact with infected bodily fluids, such as semen, vaginal fluids, or blood, during unprotected sexual intercourse. Even with underwear on, there is still a risk of skin-to-skin contact and potential exposure to infected fluids.
To effectively reduce the risk of STD transmission, it is crucial to practice safer sex methods such as using condoms, avoiding unprotected intercourse, and getting regular STD testing. Relying solely on underwear for protection may not be sufficient in preventing the transmission of all STDs.
