Preparation
* Wash hands and put on sterile gloves.
* Assist the mother in assuming a comfortable position for delivery.
* Place a sterile drape over the mother's abdomen.
* Help the mother to breathe and relax during contractions.
During Delivery
* Monitor the mother's vital signs and the progress of labor.
* Provide support and encouragement to the mother.
* Assist the healthcare provider with the delivery of the baby.
* Suction the baby's airway and provide oxygen as needed.
* Clamp and cut the umbilical cord.
After Delivery
* Help the mother to hold and breastfeed the baby.
* Assist the healthcare provider with the delivery of the placenta.
* Monitor the mother's vital signs and condition.
* Help the mother to get settled in her room and rest.
