Implantation Bleeding & Pregnancy: Can You Be Pregnant After Spotting?
It is very unlikely to get a period after implantation bleeding and still be pregnant. Implantation bleeding is a light spotting or bleeding that occurs 10 to 14 days after conception, when the fertilized egg implants in the lining of the uterus. This bleeding is often mistaken for a light period, but it is not a true period. A period is the shedding of the lining of the uterus, which occurs when a pregnancy does not occur.
If you have implantation bleeding and you are pregnant, the bleeding will typically stop within a few days. If you experience bleeding that is heavier than spotting or that lasts for more than a few days, it is important to see a doctor to rule out any other potential causes.
