How to Use Safety Glasses
Safety glasses are designed to protect your eyes from flying debris at work and home. Safety glasses are manufactured to voluntary standards set by the American National Standards Institute. Safety glasses are specified by many company safety programs to protect their employees and visitors. Safety glasses are easy to use, but some care is needed to protect them from wear and damage. If you have never worn them, a fitting by an optometrist or safety professional is recommended to provide a correct fit.Things You'll Need
- Safety glasses
- Scratch-free cloths
- Storage case
- Side shields (optional)
Instructions
Inspect your safety glasses for damage and wear before each use. Clean the lenses using mild soap and water or approved cleaning solution and scratch-free cloths.
Put on the safety glasses. Check the fit of the nose piece and ear pieces. Safety glasses should fit snugly against the face and should not slip down the nose. Install side shields if they are removable and required by your job.
Store safety glasses in their storage case between uses. Clean them regularly. Replace the safety glasses if any parts are damaged, if the lenses are scratched, or whenever they have received an impact from flying debris.
