The History of Ambulances: Leonardo da Vinci's Pioneering Design

The first known prototype of an ambulance came in the 15th century. It was designed by the Italian architect and engineer Leonardo da Vinci. It was a horse-drawn cart that was equipped with a stretcher and medical supplies. The cart was also designed to be able to transport patients in a comfortable position.
