Understanding Registered Trademarks in the CPT® Manual

In the CPT® (Current Procedural Terminology) manual, the symbol "®" (circled R) designates the service or supply is a registered trademark. Trademark symbols indicate services for which an organization claims an exclusive right of commercial ownership based on the fact that one organization originated services for which others now make claim to the right of original creation and exclusive ownership of these services.
