Recovery Position: A Step-by-Step Guide for Emergency Care
How to put a person in the recovery position:1. Kneel beside the person's neck and shoulder.
2. Roll the person gently onto their side, supporting the head and neck with one hand and using your other hand to pull the far knee up toward the chest.
3. Make sure their upper leg is straight and their lower leg is bent at the knee.
4. Tuck their hands under the cheek they're laying on.
5. Tilt the person's head back slightly to ensure their airway is clear.
*The recovery position is recommended for unconscious people who have a pulse and are breathing and to reduce the risk of choking on regurgitated fluids while unconscious.**
