TB Exposure: Respirator Mask Guidelines for Healthcare Workers
In most cases, a properly fitted N95 respirator is sufficient for protecting healthcare workers from exposure to people who are suspected of having TB disease or known to have TB disease.However, the use of a full face respirator (FFR) is recommended in certain circumstances, such as if the patient is producing large amounts of sputum, has a cough that produces large droplets, or requires procedures such as bronchoscopy or sputum induction.
