Disciplinary Actions for Unauthorized CUI Disclosure: When Not Required

When there is no requirement to take action and discipline those responsible for the unauthorized disclosure of Controlled Unclassified Information is when:

- The disclosure is made in the performance of official duties.

- The disclosure is made in the reasonable belief that it is necessary to protect the interests of the United States.

- The disclosure is made to an appropriate authority.
