CPR Training: Find Classes & Certification - American Heart Association
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is an emergency procedure that sometimes restores life to someone in cardiac arrest. Many employers in health care, education and government-based occupations require employees to take CPR training. Classes are available both locally and online that provide quick -- and sometimes free -- CPR training.
Instructions
Contact nonprofit organizations like the American Red Cross and American Heart Association about CPR training. The American Red Cross offers free CPR classes in cities all over the country. Classes usually occur on Saturday evenings to accommodate working individuals. Certification can generally be completed in one day.
Check with your state or county's health department. Government health departments often contract outside organizations to provide free CPR training.
Contact a hospital in your city about CPR training. Hospitals frequently offer CPR training as part of their in-house parenting classes. The classes are usually taught by doctors, nurses, paramedics and other healthcare professionals.
