The five-hour course offered by the American Red Cross teaches professional responders the curriculum needed to obtain a CPR Professional Rescuer certification. The certification is valid for two years and the course must be taken again for the certification to be renewed.

According to Redcrossonlinetraining.org, through the CPR training for professional online course, students will learn how to respond to respiratory and cardiac emergencies, rescue breathing, CPR / two-rescuer CPR, first aid for choking, use of a resuscitation mask and bag-valve mask resuscitator, disease transmission prevention and the systems of the body.
Considerations

In order to complete the course and receive the certification, students must pass an online test. Once the test is passed, the student must attend a skill session offered by the Red Cross. There, students must demonstrate the techniques learned.
