Medicare Coverage in Washington State: A Comprehensive Guide
Medicare is a health-insurance program for individuals older than 65, individuals younger than 65 who have certain disabilities and those with end-stage renal failure. Medicare is handled by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and has two parts, Part A and Part B. Washington residents are eligible to apply for Medicare through the Social Security website and should enroll upon reaching eligibility to avoid any delays in coverage.
Instructions
Click "Retirement/Medicare" on the home page of the Social Security website. This option is located in the center of the screen.
Select answers to the questions under the "To Start the Application Process" section on the "Welcome to the Social Security Benefit Application" page.
Check the box next to "I have read the Privacy Act Statement" under the "Privacy Act Statement" section.
Click the drop-down menu to select an answer to the next required question. Click "Next."
Enter the requested information and click "Next." Follow steps through to the questionnaire's end and then submit.
