Understanding A.R. Numbers in Pharmaceutical Clinical Trials
An A.R. number, or activity reference number, is a unique identifier assigned to each clinical trial conducted under good clinical practice (GCP) guidelines.
It consists of three parts:
1. Country code
2. Two-digit year in 69 to yy formats
3. An eight digits sequence number starting 0000-0001 that uniquely identify protocol (serial no) with last digit as check digits i.e. [A].
