V-P Scan: Understanding Ventilation-Perfusion Imaging

V-P scan stands for ventilation-perfusion scan. It is a medical imaging procedure that is used to evaluate lung function. The scan is performed by injecting a radioactive tracer into the lungs and then taking pictures of the lungs. The images show how well air is flowing into the lungs (ventilation) and how well blood is flowing to the lungs (perfusion).
