Guide: Attaching a Sling to a 6-Point Hoyer Lift - Safe Transfer Techniques
Hoyer lifts are manual lift systems used to help transfer individuals who are unable to physically transfer themselves. Examples of when a transfer may occur include from a bed to a wheelchair, from a wheelchair to a bathtub or bathing area. The 6-point Hoyer lift can accommodate 6 point, 4 point and traditional slings and individuals weighing up to 400 pounds. The type of sling used depends on the position of the individual and their ability to control their body. A U-Sling is commonly used with a 6-point Hoyer system for individuals who can sit up, even if just for a short period, to transfer from wheelchair to bed with ease.Things You'll Need
