Directions
Read the directions on the prescription bottle in order to confirm that the proper place for the drugs is the freezer.
Open your freezer and look for a compartment to store your medications separately from your food. Some people advise to never put food and drugs in the same freezer. Yet, if you wish to do so, clear out any food from that separate compartment and place the drugs inside.
Pack some ice bags in the freezer to keep it colder, if necessary. The temperature should remain at around 5 degrees Fahrenheit. Place a thermometer in the freezer to make sure that the temperature is consistently cold enough.
Place a warning sign on the freezer and inside of it, so that no one mistakenly eats your medications. Make sure no one is able to unplug your refrigerator and have a back-up plan for getting new medications if the power goes out.
