Mammograms & Cosmetics: Can You Wear Deodorant or Lotion?
Deodorant and lotion don't interfere with mammography. While some antiperspirants have ingredients that show on screening as calcium deposits, it does not create a problem in interpreting screening for the trained eye of a Radiologist. Therefore there is no medical reason to ask patients to avoid deodorant. Even so, some imaging sites continue to request that patient avoid lotion and deodorant just in case a patient comes in with something different or new on the market that could potentially confuse imaging.Women's Health - Related Articles
