Ontario BAC Limit for DUI: Penalties and Legal Consequences
The lowest blood alcohol concentration (BAC) level that will lead to a charge and criminal offence in Ontario is 0.08 grams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood. This is known as the "over 80" limit.
An individual charged for a DUI in ontario will face the option of criminal penalties such as :
-fines up to $5000
-jail up to six months
-probation
-driver's license suspension
-impoundment of vehicle
Further penalties may follow based on the severity of the event and if this is a repeat offence.
