Pediatric Injection Volumes: Dosage Guidelines by Age
In the pediatric population, the volume per injection will vary depending on the age group:
- Infant: ≤1 mL in a single injection site.
- Toddler (1–3 years): ≤1 mL in a single injection site.
- School-aged children (4–10 years): ≤1.5 mL in a single injection site.
- Adolescent: ≤2 mL in a single injection site.
If the volume to be administered exceeds the recommended amount for the child’s age group, give the injection in divided doses.
