Roseola Infantum: Symptoms, Treatment & Comfort Care
Roseola (Roseola Infantum) is a common childhood virus that affects primarily babies and children under the age of three. If your child has Roseola, make them as comfortable as possible during the course of the disease. Here's how to treat Roseola.
Instructions
Know that there is no specific treatment or cure for Roseola. Some children require no treatment at all while they have Roseola.
Treat your child's fever with ibuprofen or acetaminophen. A lukewarm bath is also helpful. You also can place a wet, lukewarm cloth on your child's head to reduce the fever and comfort her.
Allow your child to rest as much as possible. Make sure that she drinks plenty of fluids. Clear liquids such as water will prevent dehydration from the fever associated with Roseola. Let her chew on ice chips to stay hydrated.
Contact your physician if symptoms do not improve. If your child has a seizure or if you can't get him to drink any fluids, call your child's doctor immediately.
