Sperm Cells: Definition, Function, and Production

A human male gamete is also known as a sperm cell. Sperm cells are the male reproductive cells, and they are responsible for fertilizing female ova, or egg cells, during reproduction. Sperm cells are produced in the testes and are then transported through the male reproductive system during ejaculation.
