Im 34 weeks pregnant had the celestone for lungs and baby weighs 5 pounds is it safe to take castor oil?
Castor oil should not be taken to induce labor at any point during pregnancy.
Castor oil is a natural laxative that can cause severe diarrhea, dehydration, and electrolyte imbalances. It can also cause uterine contractions, even before the baby is ready to be born. This can lead to premature birth and other complications.
If you are considering using castor oil to induce labor, please speak to your doctor. There are other safer methods of inducing labor that your doctor can discuss with you.
