Can You Get Pregnant Two Days After Your Period? | Fertility & Cycle Info
It is unlikely to get pregnant two days after your period, but not impossible.
On average, a woman's menstrual cycle lasts 28 days. Ovulation, which is when an egg is released from the ovaries, usually occurs 14 days before the start of your next period. This means that if you have a 28-day cycle, you would ovulate on day 14.
Sperm can live inside the body for up to 5 days, so if you had unprotected sex on day 12 or 13 of your cycle, it is possible that the sperm could fertilise an egg that is released during ovulation.
However, the chance of getting pregnant is very low two days after your period, because the levels of progesterone and oestrogen are still low at this point in your cycle. These hormones are responsible for preparing the lining of the uterus for implantation of a fertilised egg.
If you are concerned about getting pregnant, you can use a condom or another method of contraception during sex. You can also track your cycle and avoid having unprotected sex during your fertile window.
