Miscarriage Risk at 5 Weeks: Age & Pregnancy – ACOG Insights

According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the risk of miscarriage increases with maternal age. Women over the age of 40 have a higher chance of miscarriage than younger women. At 5 weeks pregnant, the risk of miscarriage is about 20% for women over 40, compared to about 10% for women under 35.
