How long after giving birth do your hips go back to normal?
It can take several months for your hips to return to their pre-pregnancy state. During pregnancy, the hormone relaxin loosens the ligaments in your body, including those in your hips, to make room for your growing baby. This can cause your hips to feel loose or unstable, especially in the later months of pregnancy.
After you give birth, the relaxin levels in your body will decrease, and your ligaments will start to tighten up again. However, it can take plusieurs mois to fully return to their pre-pregnancy state. In the meantime, you may experience some hip pain or discomfort.
There are a few things you can do to help speed up the recovery process:
* Exercise: Pelvic floor exercises and other exercises that target the muscles around your hips can help to strengthen the ligaments and reduce pain.
* Ice: Apply ice to your hips to reduce swelling and pain.
* Heat: Apply heat to your hips to help relieve muscle spasms and pain.
* Massage: Massage the muscles around your hips to help relieve pain and tension.
* Use a support belt: A support belt can help to provide extra support for your hips and reduce pain.
If you have any concerns about your hip pain, talk to your doctor.
